Controversial Mary Potter Hospice apartments bankrolled by Wellington philanthropist

A $3 million donation toward the construction of Wellington’s controversial Mary Potter Hospice apartment complex will help the development into its construction phase.

Wellington businessman Mike O’Sullivan, who has volunteered for the organisation for nine years, has propped up the Newtown residential complex with his own cash.

The donation follows ongoing concerns from vocal Mein St neighbours who said the building would create major privacy, noise, shading and parking issues.
