- It’s official: Aucklanders are driving up Hamilton property prices.
Figures released by QV.co.nz on Friday show that in the final months of 2015, 27 per cent of all houses sold in Hamilton went to Aucklanders.
And while QV analysis shows demand from our northern neighbours is decreasing, Hamilton real estate agents think that’s just a blip in the data. In the first three months of 2016, QV found that 27 per cent had dipped to 14 per cent of all sales.
Even with the decline, all that demand gave Hamilton the title of New Zealand’s highest property value increase over a year – 23.3 per cent.
