Sumner Surf Lifesaving Club officially opened

  • Under threat of rain from a cloudy Christchurch sky, 200 people gathered at Sumner Surf Lifesaving Club to officially open the new coastal landmark.

Past and present club members packed available seats, while others stood on the lawn alongside the $2.8 million Main Rd clubhouse.

National president of Surf Lifesaving New Zealand Neil Aimes had flown down from Otaki to support the club.
