Tenants want quality, driving up price

  • Landlords are responding to increased demand for warm and dry homes but it is driving up the rent.

    Lodge City Rentals general manager David Kneebone said a shift in Hamilton’s rental market has seen renters raise the bar and put quality over price.

    And they are prepared to pay.

    “[Tenants] want security, they want clean and warm and new,” Kneebone said.
