Last week’s room reveal winners on The Block NZ: Firehouse, Sophia and Mikaere, would like to remove a bedroom from their penthouse apartment – they have “sledgehammer plans” for their winning guest bedroom.
But they say they weren’t prepared for the reaction from the other teams when they found out about the idea.
The couple faced accusations of cheating, unfairness, wanting to get a head start, and possibly being able to re-use furniture and accessories (not possible as it turns out). Host Mark Richardson said the teams needed to get together for a “block collective”, where teams take a vote.
