Wellington City Council reveals true cost of leaky homes – and it is a lot

  • Wellington ratepayers have stumped up more than $40 million for leaky building repairs over the past five years – and that figure could double over the next five.

The figures, released by Wellington City Council, come as an industry insider says some leaky building repairs are being done three times over, and the problem that has already cost billions of dollars will soon cost more as related health problems emerge.
