Campbells Bay

PHOTO: PRESTIGE REAL ESTATE This semi-derelict house in Campbells Bay, Auckland is looking for a little love. It has been handed down through the same family for more than a century.

This cliff-top beach property at Campbell’s Bay in Auckland has been in the same family for 106 years.

But no-one’s lived in it recently, and it shows. In fact, listing agent Colleen Mangnall of Prestige Real Estate calls the deceased estate the “worst house in the best street”.

But she also says it’s “one of the most interesting houses I have had to sell in 30 years of real estate”.

The house on the property was built in 1965 to replace the original little bach, and it still features the same Formica kitchen with its yellow-painted cabinets and freestanding stove.
