Work on a 350-home development in central Queenstown is set to begin after approval was given for the first stage.
Ngāi Tahu Property chief executive David Kennedy said a resource consent granted by the Queenstown Lakes District Council allowed the iwi to subdivide the former Wakatipu High School site into large blocks and begin installing roads and pipes.
“We are currently tendering for this work and hope to begin by the end of February,” he said.
