Despite a slowing property market, Auckland businesswoman and real estate agent Derryn Mayne has bought into real estate firm Century 21 New Zealand with plans to reinvigorate and expand it.

Mayne has purchased a 25 per cent share in the master franchise company Century 21 New Zealand from Australian owner, Charles Tarbey.

While the Century 21 New Zealand name has been around for 27 years here, it is only a small player with 14 franchised offices, between Silverdale, north of Auckland, and Wellington.

Mayne has big aspirations to change that. An experienced real estate agent, Mayne said there were many opportunities to set up Century 21 franchises and offices throughout the country.
