“Aussie” John Symond has led a handful of top-end property sales this week with the $7 million sale of his designer Double Bay investment property despite widespread fears over the spread of COVID-19 and unprecedented government containment measures.

The boutique shop and residence was listed a year ago with a $6.5 million to $7 million guide, but was withdrawn a few months later given the sluggish market at that time.

A social media post by 1st City Double Bay revealed a buyer exchanged on the property on Thursday evening. Despite no price disclosure by selling agent Brad Caldwell-Eyles, the post reported it sold on an “approx. 2.9% net yield”, indicating a sale price of about $7 million.
