Queenstown Lakeview Holiday Park

A laugh rings out from a long orange and white retro 1976 Oxford caravan. The newly-repaired awning is flapped back revealing a large space that has been cleared for Paula and Rewi Bull’s children and grandchildren who are arriving to the Queenstown Lake View Holiday Park in a few hours from Invercargill.

The two-hour journey from the deep south for the summer break is one the Bull family has made for more than 20 years.

Next door, Waimate couple Dot and John McFarlane have travelled to the same camping ground site for over 50 years.

It is the last time the families will be camping in their caravans at the popular holiday park, which is losing its 200 camp sites in 2020 to make way for a $1 billion development.
