Real estate agents have shrugged off talk of a slump in the Marlborough Sounds property market, pointing to million-dollar sales in the past few months.

Figures released by the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ) show the median house price in the Marlborough Sounds was $450,000 for September, down 5.9 per cent compared to September 2017.

But Bayleys Marlborough director Glenn Dick said looking at the median price for one month did not give an accurate representation of what was happening in the market.
