Stephanie Campbell was working as a real estate agent when she lost her vision, but was still able to perform most of her job.

With the help of computer screen-reading devices, she could draw up and sign leases, organise maintenance work, speak to landlords and tenants and bring in new business.

“I could not drive to property inspections, but I could do the full range of other tasks,” she said.

“I can still type and read everything on my computer. There is so much technology available to get around what I can’t see.”

The Dylan Alcott Foundation has launched its “Remove the Barrier” campaign to raise awareness about the visible and invisible barriers that prevent people with disability from getting jobs.
