There’s a lot of hearsay when it comes to historical homes – information is passed on through different generations, and while it isn’t always easy to prove stories, there’s no doubt this house in Parliament Street, Thorndon, Wellington must have a few tales to tell.

The house, which has just come on the market, was built more than 100 years ago for the first manager of Bellamy’s – parliament’s in-house restaurant. He named the house “Glenfada”.
