From pro basketballer to working mum and being named one of Australia’s top selling real estate agents for 2019 — Harcourts Semaphore principal Kate Smith proves that you can have it all.

Adelaide principal Kate Smith is the first to admit that her former glory days as a pro female basketballer helped set her up for a life in real estate.

Ms Smith, who heads Harcourts Semaphore, was 15 when she was talent spotted by the Australian Institute of Sport.

Her dream then was to represent Australia, which she did during her three years at the institute.

She lived and breathed basketball – that was until she turned 18.

Despite being picked up by the Melbourne and Adelaide basketball teams, Ms Smith said she realised in her early 20s that real estate had become her real passion.

By then, she had been working in her mum’s real estate firm, while also fulfilling her professional basketball dreams.
