An Auckland landlord who failed to lodge 32 separate tenancy bonds has been ordered to pay $24,750 by the Tenancy Tribunal.

Rinal Kumar, known as Danny, the sole shareholder and director of Hope’s Management Limited “deliberately and knowingly” failed to lodge the tenancy bonds at the Bond Centre, the tribunal found.

The Ministry for Business, Innovation and Employment’s Tenancy Compliance and Investigations Team (TCIT), said that Kumar failed to lodge tenancy bonds on 32 separate occasions, while also failing to provide documentation to the department.
