NZSIR Nelson-Tasman managing director Steve Kelso says the unprecedented sale reinforces the strength of the local property market, despite some price decreases in other areas of NZ.|
“We are still seeing a significant shift to the lifestyle regions from some of the urban centres, which has been great for the Nelson-Tasman region,” he says. “Areas such as Māpua, Ruby Bay, the Nelson Lakes and the Port Hills are still very attractive to buyers, as are smaller properties within Nelson central.”
The record-breaking Māpua sale comes hot on the heels of the opening of the new NZSIR office in Nelson, now owned by franchisees Steve and Keryn Kelso.
“We were delighted to manage the sale of this special property in Māpua and the timing couldn’t be more apt as Keryn and I introduce ourselves as the new franchise holders of NZSIR Nelson,” Steve adds.
Steve has been a sales associate for the prestigious NZSIR brand since 2015 following a career in project management, while Keryn has a background in medical administration for the Nelson Marlborough District Health Board. Together, they have taken on the NZSIR Nelson-Tasman franchise and aim to provide a bespoke, premium service for property buyers and sellers in Nelson.
“Keryn and I are proud to be part of NZSIR – not only is it a globally recognised brand with phenomenal international pull, it is also very distinctly NZ and attune with how we like to buy and sell property in this country,” he says. “The high-quality service and outstanding marketing opportunities NZSIR provides are unlike anything else available on the open market. It’s not a churn business – it’s very personal and we develop trusted one-on-one relationships with our clients.”
The NZSIR office at 295 Trafalgar Street, Nelson, houses seven sales associates and two administration staff, including the Kelsos.
“Owning the Nelson-Tasman franchise is a fantastic opportunity for us and we are looking forward to building on the success that NZSIR has already enjoyed in this region,” Steve adds.
