- The Hutt City Council won’t say what it intends to do with a building it paid $2.8 million for.
The council bought the former BNZ building in High St from developer Raman Sarin in mid 2015, who subsequently announced his intention to build a $12 million hotel at another site in southern High Street.
Documents provided under the Official Information Act point to prolonged negotiations between Sarin and the council but give no hint of the council’s intention for the BNZ building.
