An 18-bedroom Petone house that would be ideal for social or student housing has created a lot of interest.

It has a history, however, that might put some buyers off.

Te Omanga Hospice is selling Britannia House after moving back into its new $10 million facility on Woburn Road.

The hospice bought the former retirement home for $1.5m in 2017 and moved in while their new building was under construction.
