A proposed $3 million makeover of Porirua’s Titahi Bay Rd could see it rival Wellington’s Oriental Parade.
Porirua City Council wants to strengthen the main roadway against further coastal erosion between the city and Titahi Bay, and add a shared pathway. The proposal features in its Long-Term Plan 2018-2038 document, which is out for public consultation.
The rising cost of halting coastal erosion temporarily saw the breaks put on the pathway plan in October.
