forgotten land

It’s smack in the middle of a city in the midst of a property boom – in a booming region.

But a section of forgotten land, that could become a surprise inheritance, comes with a sliver of a problem for relatives of two long-dead men.

Porirua City Council has discovered a section of land needed to upgrade an intersection is still partly-owned by dead people. Now it’s hunting for their descendents.

The land, previously thought to be owned by a local church, actually includes a section owned by Herbert Taylor and Andrew Walker, both born in the late 1800s and both dead for the past 60-odd years.
