Winston Peters has ditched his Northland home and returned to Auckland ahead of his trip to Wellington on Wednesday to meet with his party caucus.
The NZ First leader had trekked back to Whananaki on Sunday from Russell after an election night that saw him crowned kingmaker.
He had hoped to get some fishing in but the tide didn’t play ball on Sunday and by about 11am on Monday he and his partner, Jan Trotman, had packed up their Whananaki home and driven back to Auckland.
