Mt Roskill property

Described by the original listing agent as a “disaster”, the ugly, leaky, roughcast house in Mount Roskill has found a buyer.

Agent Will El-Haddawi of Barfoot and Thompson Manukau sold the house, which is part “Flintstones” and part faux-modern, to a family who aim to live there themselves.

They paid $485,000 for the house, which has a CV of $910,000 – that includes a land value of $790,000.

But El-Haddawi is not sure whether the new owners will demolish the house or look at a major renovation. The house has “major water ingress issues” and no Code Compliance Certificate, which essentially made the CV irrelevant to potential buyers.
