A man accused of kidnapping Yanfei Bao appeared in the Christchurch District Court on Monday. The arrest took place at Christchurch Airport, where the suspect was attempting to flee the country.

Public Tips Flood In

As of Tuesday morning, the police have received over 120 pieces of information from the public. A significant portion of these tips is related to a silver Mitsubishi sedan with registration DPH101. Additionally, authorities have been investigating a ditch near Lake Ellesmere in connection with the case.

Focus on Hornby Property

On Monday, police directed their attention to a property in the suburb of Hornby, marking the third property searched in relation to Bao’s disappearance. The homeowners, who lived in the house for 37 years before relocating to Australia, expressed shock at the scrutiny their former residence is under. Yanfei Bao was acting as a buyer’s agent and was scheduled to show someone the property on the morning of her disappearance.
