A prominent figure in the real estate realm and an auctioneer has criticized the egocentric atmosphere prevailing in the industry, suggesting that some of his peers no longer prioritize viewing clients as the central figures in transactions.
Tom Panos, based in Sydney, took to his social media platforms to express his sentiments, describing his post as a “rant.” He singled out a new wave of agents who appear to prioritize self-promotion over effectively marketing the properties they handle.
As a podcaster and proprietor of a real estate coaching enterprise, Mr. Panos questioned the rise of inflated egos among agents, wondering aloud about the timeline of this shift.
“I can’t pinpoint the exact moment,” he remarked, “but at some juncture in the past two decades, we veered away from placing the client in the spotlight and witnessed the emergence of real estate agents positioning themselves as the central heroes in transactions.”
