The threat of arrest against members of a family in a land dispute has been put on hold until after Queen’s Birthday Weekend.

A judge at the High Court in Wellington refused to end the arrest warrants while Bruce Smith’s family continue to challenge the grounds for getting them off family land.

But Justice Christine Grice has given Bruce, his wife Ruby, and daughters Kreslea and Jarna Smith time to take legal advice and make an “orderly exit from the premises”, a block of land known as Waipaoa 5A2, near Wairoa in the northern Hawke’s Bay.
