A Mississippi man accused of sexually assaulting a real estate agent during an open home has been ordered to remain behind bars without bond, as new court filings reveal disturbing details of the alleged attack.

🛑 Jerry Dennis, 64, is facing multiple felony charges, including:

  • Capital kidnapping

  • Sexual battery

  • Armed robbery

  • Use of a deadly weapon

A motion filed by the Rankin County District Attorney on Tuesday formally requested that Dennis continue to be held without bond at the Rankin County Jail. Court documents also confirm that Dennis will undergo a mental evaluation while in custody.

🏠 Real Estate Agent Targeted During Open Home Setup

The attack reportedly took place three weeks ago, when Rankin County Sheriff’s deputies were called to a home on Cedar Ridge Boulevard in Pearl, where a female real estate agent was preparing to host an open home.

According to the victim, Dennis entered the property shortly after she arrived, claiming he was interested in viewing the home. But what began as a routine showing took a horrifying turn.


⚠️ Gun Threat, Assault & Escape

As the two conversed, the victim told authorities that Dennis suddenly pulled out a firearm. A violent struggle followed, during which she managed to bite Dennis on the arm. He then reportedly struck her in the head with the weapon.

The victim said Dennis forced her at gunpoint to undress, before sexually assaulting her.

Following the attack, Dennis allegedly threatened her, stole her car keys and phone, and fled the scene.


🚓 Swift Arrest in Rankin County

Deputies later tracked Dennis to a residence in Rankin County, where he was taken into custody without incident.

At this time, Dennis remains jailed, and no bond has been granted. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have confirmed that the victim is receiving support.
